Pathfinder Chronicles

Pathfinder Chronicles is a game for Pathfinders aged 10 to 16: pick a character, explore the camp with friends and earn badges. It plays in a web browser and in the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, and a player's progress is the same in all of them.

Joining

A player makes up a nickname and a 4-digit PIN the first time. After that, the same nickname and PIN open the same character on any phone, tablet or computer. Choose a nickname, not a real name: other players see it.

A forgotten PIN, or "locked"

After 5 wrong PINs in a row a nickname is locked for 15 minutes, and for longer each time it happens again, up to a day. This stops anyone guessing their way in. Waiting is all it takes; a Pathfinder leader can also unlock it.

Nobody can look a PIN up, because the game never keeps it. If it is truly forgotten, we can delete the account so the nickname is free to start again: see Delete an account.

"Game stopped"

A player can be in the game on one device at a time. Joining on a second one stops the first, which then says "Game stopped". Press Reload on the one you want to play on.

Sound

The speaker button in the corner turns the game's sound on and off, and the game remembers the choice. On an iPhone or iPad the game is also silent while the ring switch is set to silent.

A nickname that should not be there

Nicknames are checked when they are made, but no list catches everything. If you see one that is rude or unkind, report it in the game: walk up to the player and press Badges, or open Who’s online, then choose Report name. A leader looks at every report within a day. You can also tell a Pathfinder leader, or write to us at the address below, and it will be dealt with.

To stop seeing a player, choose Hide player in the same places. They are not told. Hidden players are listed in Who’s online, where Show again brings them back.
